One of the rare left-handed pinstripers, Mr.G came across pinstriping through wildman spinstriping demonstration in 1992. from then on he was hooked and combined his status as the TIKI pioneer in japan with his pinstriping art.
Like many in the japanease scene, he eastablishd close links with pinstripers in the US early on. This culminated in his first one-man show in L.A. in 2005 where all the works on offer sold out.
Tiki is an obsseion of Mr.G`s. He is one of the foremost collecters of Tiki mugs in japan and recently created an orijinal Tiki mug design for the leading Tiki manufacturers, TIKI Farm, of SanClemente, CA.
A huge figure on the scene in japan and the USA, where he is represented by the Gasoline Gallery in El Segundo, CA ,his work was also featured in 2008/09 at the In Search of Tiki show, at the Forest Lawn Museum in Glendale. He has also been experimenting with new media, producing the cover art for Burnout MagazineNo.46.
The maine body of work remains the striping for cars and bikes, and his T-shirt designs, as well as the ever- present tiki art works. He is also spreading the art through his Kustom Kulture skool, in collaboration with Nash spreads the word about the origins and art of Kustom Kulture.
Mr.G`s studio is now in FUKUOKA JAPAN Prefecture and his studio to outside commission work is roughly 50/50. He likes advertising some personal details: “My blood type is O, my favourite food is rice omelette, I drive a 60`s Ford falcon and I also want you to quote my motto : You Gotta Run When You Gotta Run” . We`re not sure quite sure what he means there, but the artistry speaks for itself.
